  1. I installed Toast 6.03 and I cant find the plugin for quicktime to export videos in vcd files for toast. I'd like to use this to export some videos from final cut pro into toast vcd files (through quicktime). Where can I get (download?) this plugin and is there any other easier way to export from Final Cut Pro to vcd/svcd?

    Thanks!

Toast 6 no longer has a VCD encoder plug-in for QuickTime. Toast 6 contains it own encoder now. To make VCDs in Toast 6, add your FCP movie (or reference file) to a VCD project and burn. Before the disc is actually burned, Toast will convert to the material to MPEG.

    As Anty said,
You should be dragging and dropping your Exported
FCP movie ( in FCP4, go File-->Export-->FCP Movie)
and this will make a Quicktime Compatible Movie file.
Toast likes files that are QT Spec, so dragging and dropping
the FCP movie file into the Video CD window will insure
    Toast will like it.

which version of FCP are you using?
It is common in FCP 4.01....

  7. ...and every other version of FCP. Look closer.
Look, let me explain something. I'm not Mr. Lebowski; you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. That, or Duder. His Dudeness. Or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing--

  8. I have FCP 4.1 and when I go File --> Export, I get the following options:

    Quiktime Movie
    Using Compressor
    Quicktime Conversion
    For Soundtrack
    For LiveType
    Audio to AIFF
    Audio to OMF
    some cinematools options
    EDL
    XML

and thats about it. Maybe what you mean is that I should export as a quicktime movie. If so, what settings should I use?

I use the following, but it's only because I have had great results with
this codec. You can use the standard (Video) codec just as well.

    Settings: 3ivx 4.5 codec
    Best Quality
    Options--> One Pass Average Bitrate
    29fps
    Keyframe every 90 frames

    Sound: Uncompressed
    Stereo
    2 Channel 16 bit

For best quality, use motion jpeg in between.
