Hey all, I've got a Presario 1260 laptop with a K6-2 333MHz cpu and 64mb RAM and a 4200rpm hdd. I am upgrading the RAM this week to 160mb (maximum for model) and a new 5400rpm drive. I have been converting my dvd's to DivX format using Dr. DivX (definitely worth checking out even though it costs money!!!). In the opinions of the experts, will the 333 be enough to handle the DivX files with the 160mb RAM? Also, will the hard drive speed affect the playback of the file, or just the time to access and buffer? Back in freshman year at college, I remember playing a lot of mpegs and older DivX files on the same laptop with 64mb RAM and very little (if any at all) problems - usually no problems period. I'm hoping that it isn't TOO dependent on processor speed...
Thanks!
J

You shouldn't have any problems with anything but the highest bitrate files. Just don't expect to be doing anyting in the background while the movie is playing
