  1. I have a few VHS VCR tapes that I would like to capture to VCD soon. I am confused as to the capture cards I would use. I might at some point like to edit the video with captions, and effects etc.

What card will allow me to capture? I currently have a Asus V7100 card which only supports Tv Out. Is the Asus V7700 a better option or would a cheap card suffice?

    Thanks

  2. I'd recommend a WinTV card...You can capture to MPEGI or MPEG-2 with that card if you use a program called CinePlayer DVR. You can also capture as high as 640*480+ with the card using VirtualDub, which is no doubtfully explained in an artical on this site. So, i'd get the WinTV. Unless you feel that your Video Card is aging and you want to get a new Video Card, too. In that case i would go to the ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon, i've heard lots of good things about it. However i hear that ATI's and Athlons dont go good together..but this is, just a rumour, and if you ask around sombody will be sure about it. Best of luck!

If I knew everything, I wouldn't be here....
