Hi,
I have heard it possible to copy a DVD movies onto a DVD- Disc which is converted into a DVD+ disc.
(I have a DVD player that only plays DVD+ disc's. I find that DVD+ disc's are more expensive than DVD- disc's
Is it possible and if so, what program???

Hi ebritt,
It is not truth that's DVD+R is always expensive than DVD-R, check www.staples.com this week, they sale 10 DVD+R 4X in jewel case for 7.94 in USA, and 10 of DVD-R 2X in jewel case for 7.94, what do you think? which one is cheaper
Before I use to use DVD-R, now I buy +R , it depend on which one is on sale and have a goood deal. I have 4 DVD player ( One in the Minivan) all of them can read +R or -R. Now it only depend on what media you have. Some DVD player can not see the cheap media. (please correct me if I am wrong, because I thought my DVD player only can read DVD-R, then I tried CompUSA CMC +R, they can not read on 4 of mine DVD.
Now I bought Imation 4X DVD+R from Ricoh, Ritek , all of my DVD can read these great disks.)
I used Nero to copy disk to disk from -R to +R with no problem. If you can not use it with regular burn then go with Nero Express, it will burn for you perfectly.
Good Luck, -
Not quite sure exactly what your looking to do but I will take a stab..
From what it sounds like, you are trying to:
A) Take a DVD-R you have and basically burn it on to a DVD+R. If that is the case..then you can definitely do that. Pretty easy
B) Or you are trying to burn a movie to a DVD-R and you are trying to burn it in a "DVD +R" type of mode..so it will be compatable with your DVD player? If that is the case I have never heard of doing that. Seems like it is the media itself that governs whether it is -R or +R, and not anything you can do in the burning process to change that..
But sabercats is actually right. DVD +R's are pretty cheap to. I just got 100 Memorex Printable tops 4X, RICOHJPN01's for 98$. That is very comparable to the -R's I've seen. -
you don't need to "convert" dvd-r to dvd+r. just rip the dvd-r disc and burn it onto a dvd+r disc. presto! the same file structure goes onto either format, it's not like having to transfer an mp3 file to a wav file to burn onto a cd.
ps: maybe you guys didn't notice that this guy is from australia and that media prices in countries outside of the US vary *a great deal*. -
My friend lives in Melbourne....she say she lives in Ouch-stralia whenever she looks for DVDR's to replace what I send her.....so it must be pretty bad there.

but if he is going to burn onto a dvd-r, then copy that to a dvd+r, why not just burn straight to a dvd+r? he will just be wasting a dvd-r, and is still going to have to buy a dvd+r anyway.
