  2. Is it in AVI package? If so you can just change the FOURCC to something that TMPGEnc likes. (like DIVX)

The video track should be MPEG-4, just like DivX, and XviD.

  5. First thing you want to do is to disable "Hide file extensions for known types".

I have a feeling that its a *.MOV with MPEG-4 video, and audio.

What application are you using to view the file with? (QuickTime)

Read the AVI to VCD/DVD guides found under Convert left. Try them out.

  10. MOV extensions can still have MPEG-4 video, and AAC audio. The FOURCC for the video will be MP4V.

If the file won't even play, the first thing you need to do is install 3ivX. 3ivX will install MP4 support for both QuickTime and Windows Directshow.

After a reboot, try the QTReader.vfp plugin for TMPGEnc. Anything?

Now i have no idea what the attributes of your file are so i can only give suggestions, no definate answers.

If you have QuickTime Pro you can always export to AVI, but you have to choose between having a quality loss and having an enormous file.

Have you considered using AVISynth with the QTReader.vfp plugin?

If you try to use GraphEdit to make an intermediate file, it may be possible to leave the video stream compressed, and just remux to AVI.
AVI's don't support AAC audio, so audio stream will need to be decompressed.

Remuxing with GraphEdit to MP4 might be readable in TMPGEnc through DirectShow. (may need to adjust priority if DShow file reader)

The DVD template would be a good place to start. Once you have the mpeg created you'll need to use an authoring program to place the file into the proper DVD structure. Try DVD Lab or TMPGEnc DVD Author. Also, you might want to create a small test clip first to make sure that TMPGEnc is recognizing the AAC audio.

  13. 3ivX has a AAC decoder, it might go through directshow.

I agree, do a test first.
