    Nobody answered my question

How come if I use AC-3 audio in the menu when using TMPGEnc DVD Author ... I wont hear any audio.

But if I use a video with LPCM audio in the menu ... I will hear audio.

I would be very happy to hear the reasons why and is their a way to have AC-3 audio in the video of the menu ... that can be heard ... properly and correctly ???

The AC-3 plugin is installed and working but doesn't convert the audio in video that I'm using ... in the menu.

Reason for wanting to know is because ... AC-3 audio is smaller than LPCM audio.

    Thank you ... in advance.

    Sincerely ... LacyWest

  2. I'd imagine its because TDA hasn't had full support for AC3 until the most recent version. it can let it pass through but not really do anything with it at all. I'm interested to know from anyone who has the new AC3 plugin if the menu audio is now functioning from AC3 tracks.

I've got the new AC-3 plugin installed ... but so far only the movie is affected.

If I use a section of the movie to be my menu ... like for showing a preview ... of the movie to be shown ... the audio is ... silent or converted to LPCM.

I did a experiment yesterday to find out what the AC-3 plugin could do.

I kind of forgotten ... but fact is ... the video used in the menu ... end result is not AC-3 audio.

  4. You can easily fix it with IfoEdit after creating DVD folder on your HD. Open IFO and on main overview page find menu video/audio properties. Double click on menu audio, change to AC3 and save.

Let me get this straight .... I'm going to have a vob file ... which if I play it with PowerDVD ... I will see it is the menu.

If I open it in VirtualDub Mpg-2 ... I will see the audio is LPCM.

And your saying if I Open IFOedit and use it to say the audio is AC-3 ... everything will be okay.

Doesn't that seem like hypnotizing some woman into thinking they are a man. And as they travel through the day ... She keeps having these errors all day long ... because everybody around her sees her as a woman but she wants to behave like a male.

I don't think this is the way to fix it.

Your question was "How come if I use AC3...", so I assumed that you did use AC3 for your menus, not LPCM. For some reasons TDA always labels menu's audio as LPCM even if it is AC3. If your audio in TDA menu is real AC3 - trick with Ifoedit works whether you believe it or not.
    Regards.
