  1. Using TMPGEnc Plus 2.5, encoding a AVI to DVD, I dont know what the ideal settings should be, for example: 4:3 525 Line or 2.11:1 or ....; Interlace or Non-Interlace, 352X480pixels or 720x480pixels.

Is there a program where I can throw my file in and it will tell me all this or some other way to find out the ideal setting for my AVI file?

(also confusing, if I have a widescreen film (there are different kinds of wide screen) I could go with NTSC then choose 16:9 NTSC 525 Line or NTSC 16:9 then whatever or maybe even 1:1 and choose Full Screen (keep aspect ration) in MPEG settings.)

    Thank you.

Here is a link to a website that has an excellent guide on using TMPGEnc

I think you have too many questions for any one person to answer. I'm not trying to be rude but your understanding of TMPGEnc and the various settings seems to be pretty much non existant.

So read the guide that I linked too above.

Also look here on DVDRHELP.COM for more guides on using TMPGEnc

Once you understand most of it (which you should after reading a few guides) you can then post more specific questions on whatever is left over that you still don't understand.

Right now you are asking about advanced geometry without understanding how 2+2=4 works.

This refers to your original footage. The vast majority of video cameras records in interlaced mode. Some cameras can optionally record in a non-interlaced mode called progressive scan. If your source footage is progressive scan video, film or non-interlaced animation, select Non-interlace."

Its an 750mb AVI file of a Film, but Im not sure if its a copy of a VHS or one recorded in a movie theatre using a Video Camera or what.
    Don't be a dumb ass:

    Do NOT give warez.

Do NOT link to warez .

    Do NOT ask for warez.

Do NOT provide information how to obtain warez.

    Do NOT advocate warez.

Warez includes downloaded copyrighted movies, movies that are not yet released on VHS/DVD and copying rented movies.

The above is a section of the forum rules and this info pops up evertime you submit a post.

    I mean really now ...
