I have a pioneer 105 that is about a year old. Worked like a charm up until
a week ago. I use recordnowmax as my software. Generally when
erasing dvdrw's it would display 1:31 minutes as the time needed for the erase. It generally took half that time. Aweek ago all looked like normal during an erase but it took about 10 seconds. RNM can no longer use the disk. It says it needs to be erased. When I erase it it says the same thing
and goes in an endless loop. I have tried other rw's and they are all now
useless.
Thinking it might be a corrupted burn engine I uninstalled and reinstalled
RNM. The problem, however, remains.
The strange thing is the same problem has happened to a friend with
his pioneer 105 which is considerably newer than mine.
Burning on normal dvd-r goes without a hitch and playback is flawless.
Any other Pioneer 105 owners experiencing anything similar???????

Had the exact same syptoms with my A-05 and crappy DVD-RW's (optowrites i think they were!)!!
I managed to format/erase half of them using DVDInfo Pro. As for the remaining half....... they became useless!!
I cant remember how many times I had recorded most of the disks b4 this happened but I am sure that in 2-3 occassions the DVD-RWs were brand new!!
Try DVDinfo pro and
good luck! The Truth Is Out There - X Files
