Hello -
I recently received a video on CD from my corporate offices in .mp4 format. At first I could not play it, but after updating Quicktime I was in business. The problem is that I need to hand these out to my customers and I do not want them to have to wait for a 12 meg download like Quicktime (many are still on dial-up). Is there a free codec or player I could have them download that would be free, unlimited use and allow them to easily view the video?
I looked into 3ivx, but it is a limited time use software.
Thanks in advance for your help. I really am in a pinch.

Isn't a .MP4 file just a container for MPEG-4 video? Try this tool and see if it plays it (as opposed to 3ivx). I don't know if it will.

Hope this helps,

How were you expected to play it? why didnt they use wmv as everyone has that by default (except mac) if its CCtv footage of the toilets during the Office party then no probs, but if its secret instructions on how to build a guided missile, or your boss (OBL?) latest videoI recently received a video on CD from my corporate offices in .mp4 format
