I am not that new to this but I have run into a problem?

I have been burning movies from the hard drive to vcd for about 1 year now and this I have no problem with, but I am trying to help out a friend who wants a copy of some of my movies and I dont know how to take them off vcd back to his hard drive and then I dont know how to convert them to burn to a dvd disk? I will eventually get a dvd burner but I have looked on the internet and on some forums and cannot find anything. I have the programs needed to convert them here with me, but he has not paid for any programs to do this. Also cant I just convert them here and copy them to vcd in dvd format and move the files onto his hard drive and burn to dvd? I am not sure if this makes any sense but if it does could someone help??

VCDEasy can extract mpegs from your VCD's and SVCD's to your hard drive. To put them on a DVD you can try using SVCD2DVD.
