  1. Hello,

I'm a newbie at DVD ripping. I've been using DVD Decrypter to copy DVD movies to the HD and then DVD shrink to prepare them for burning. My problem is that when I decrypted Terminator 3, there was no audio either before I used DVD Shrink or after I used DVD shrink. I've never had this happen when ripping other DVDs. Suggestions? BTW, when I play the original DVD the audio is fine.

Sure, give DVDecrypter the day off and rip with DVD Shrink only.

  3. Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried Version 3.0 but when backing up it hung up on the encryption so I tried the latest version of DVD shrink. When I reauthored the main movie and previewed the movie before backing up the movie it played great with sound. But, after backing up, there was sound on the first part but no sound for the majority of the movie. There is plenty of free space on the HD. I use PowerDVD XP to play the files. What am I doing wrong?

When it gets hung up on decryption, play the main movie and while it's playing, try to rip again.

  5. That worked as far as overcoming the decryption aspect; however, only some of the VTS-VOB files have audio associated with them. I had tried useing the start/end editing to begin the movie at the equivalent of the third VTS-VOB file in an effort to get audio associated witht the video but that didn't work. Don't undersatnd why there is audio only with the first two VTS-VOB files and not all of the VTS-VOB files.

Are you trying to rip all the audio channels, or some of them, and which one?
    Hello.

  7. Actually I'm trying to rip the movie. I can get the video okay but with this DVD movie, I can't get the associated audio for the entire movie. The last time I tried I got audio on the first three VTS-VDO files but no associated audio with the last two files. The video plays okay, just no sound after the first three files have played out. The movie is Terminator 3. I have had such problems with other movies I've ripped.
