  1. Sounds like a date ad.

Anyhow if any of you can suggest a good sound card that costs next to nothing and fits the description in the title, then PLEASE suggest one, thankx a lot!

P.S. I am VERY poor so don't go crazy with high priced suggestions, the closer to a dollar the better!

I would recommend one of the Soundblaster Live! series of cards. You can usually find one of the no-frills cards online for about 20 dollars. Try newegg.com to start.

  3. Any suggestions aside of the SB series, they have never been Snap Crackle & Pop free for me actually.

For the budget minded consumer I heartily recommend this sound card. The Fortissimo III is just a rare gem for the money. There are better cards for more money (M-Audio and Terratec) but the Fortissimo III is superb. Now I’m a little biased, I hate Creative and every P.O.S. soundcard they’ve ever made. Anything and everything that was ever wrong with any of my previous pcs was because of a P.O.S. Creative card and its crap-ass drivers. I threw the last one away and got a Fortissimo II and have never looked back. I’m now planning on getting a Terratec DMX6 Fire. Good luck.

  5. Aghh a fellow Creative Labs hater!!!

I'll look into your suggestions, thankx a lot.

The problem I've been having is in some capture programs the sounds begins to get this industrial echo effect going on, when I change the settings from Stereo to Line In, it stops, but not all programs (DVD X maker) allow this.

Then of course every single SB card I've ever owned likes to crackle, or loose the freaking drivers after a reboot.
