  1. I'm having difficulty determining which IDE PC DVD-ROM drive is the "best" for ripping. Ideally I'd spend $150 tops for the drive.

  3. I ended up purchasing the OEM Pioneer DVD-116 from http://www.hypermicro.com for $65 plus $11 2-day FedEx. Unfortunately the drive is an OEM drive and includes no software or cables.

    I've seen quite a few people mention Pioneer as a preferred manufacturer, though I believe they're often referencing the standalone players.

  5. Oh yeah, Pioneer is the best! just don't forget to flash the firmware to region free!, i've got the Pioneer 106S and I love this drive, excellent performance.
