  1. I ahve the a7n8x-e deluxe its I have 4 ide devices hooked up right now and a SATA that I just put in there but the SATA isn't in Disk Management, I see the drive in the bios but thats about it, supposatly the drive is SATA raid only but is it possible to have only 1 drive ? Someone said maybe a bios flash.

    I'm pretty sure you just need to install the drivers for the Silicon Image Sil3112 sata controller on that board and the drive should show up fine. I'm personally running a single sata drive on a Sil3114 controller on my DFI SLI-DR board and I had to install the drivers for it separately. Also, you may have to set the controller to SATA only in the bios and not SATA with RAID.

    There is also a jumper on the MB to enable/disable SATA. Most people move the jumper to disable SATA when they don't have any SATA drives to decrease boot times.

  5. thanks, the driver worked for me I can see the drive in disk management, formatting now, hopefully everything is ok I'll get back to you guys.
