I'm going to record for 12 hours, and I'm wondering what would the best capture-setting be for getting around 100-130 megs per min.

I can stretch up to 140...

    I want a reasonable frame-size, and a decent quality...thanks in advance...

What kind of capture device are you using? What format are you capturing to? More info, please.

    If that's MJPEG try ..
Full D1 size at about 10:1 compression
    or
Half D1 size at about 5:1 compression.

  8. Agreed, Mjpeg will do good for your purposes. And it is all I frames so frame accurate editing afterwards is not a problem.

Mjpeg is a great huffyuv replacement for those with small disk space available, or a TON of capturing to do all at once.

With Picvideo codec, for the file size you want, you you should get full screen capture at a quality setting of 17 to 18 with clean video- with slightly noisy video at about 16 settiing.
