    What program would I use to convert an m2v file to an mpeg?

  2. Im right there with you..been having problems trying to figure this out...i was told that with some .m2v files you can just rename the extension to .mpg. If anyone can help..please do...i know there is some simple answer i just cant find it

    I tried renaming it to .mpg but that didn't work....oh well

    An m2v file should be an MPEG2 file which is video only; no sound. So are you trying to convert to mpeg1? Is it not working in terms of not playing on your computer or what? If you can't play on your pooter, try installing Windvd or another dvd player and play from there. The MPEG2 players like Ligos and Xing pale in comparison.

    Anyway, to convert to another form of MPEG, your best bet is dvd2avi, save project, load into tempgenc and convert to your heart's content.

    Yes, I want to convert it to mpeg-1. I tried playing it on Windows Media Player, but that didn't work.
