Well, this has been interesting. I really liked Windvr 3.0, program wise. But the fuzzies by recording in MPEG2 was tough to accept if I wanted to archive anything.
I tried Virtual VCR. I recorded 3 minutes of TV broadcast in avi 720 x 480, YUY2, then converted it into mpeg using TMPGenc. The results are unbelieveable. It's as clear as the original broadcast. No more fuzzies.
I can just imagine what a pain it is to wait on the transcoding into mpeg.
Is there a faster program than TMPGenc that maintains quality?
And since both programs eventually record in mpeg, why is the avi that is transcoded so much clearer?
