I am the proud owner of a new external Plextor 708 UF burner and only have one complaint: the noise.
Burning works fine (also backing up my DVD+Rs directly from my internal 16X DVD-Rom to the external Plextor works great in 2.4X and 4X writing speeds i tested) but when the drive is in idle mode it makes a lot of noise.
I was so happy with my new PC being so silent, but unfortunately this Plextor isn't.
Is this normal for external writers / equipment?
