    I know this is kinda off topic, but this is the only forum I know where I can get a decent reply.

    My questions are:

    1. What are the differences between SVHS and VHS?

    2. SVHS suffers from wear and tear (like every type of cassette), right?

    SVHS is a high resolution version of VHS designed for high quality recordings. It is analog like VHS, but provides a higher resolution (400 scanlines) and stores the chrominance and luminance signals seperately to produce a brigher, more colorful image. S-VHS is best for recording from a clean digital source like digital cable or a digital camcorder.

    They suffer wear and tear like any other form of tape medium.
