Don't confuse DTS and AC5.1 . They aren't the same. And I've never seen a DviX with DTS, but many with 2 or 5.1 channel digital audio. And no, SVCD doens't support it, but it does support 2 channel Dolby Surround audio.

  3. Ok so should i take this as a ..NO u can't get DTS from a (divx 5ch) with the program AVI2DVD when making a DVDR ?

  4. You may be able to mux the DTS audio file with a DivX file, and play it in a program like PowerDVD and WinDVD, which both support playing of DivX and playing of DTS audio.

Now you have gone and confused me. The subject of your posts inplies your making a SVCD. Are you trying to make a DVD? That's easier.

Do you mean DTS or do you mean AC5.1? It all depends on what your authoring program supports. TMPG Author supports 5.1. Just drop in the AC5.1 and the M2V file and off you go. Basiccly you strip out the audio and convert the video, pretty simple. Never seen an AVI with a DTS track (to too effing big, actually bigger than most video rates for a DivX).

  7. Thought I made it clear that it was dvdr ... sorry. I use the program DVD2SVCD with the AVI2DVD option...
And I want DTS audio..or when I play it on my standalone dvdplayer with my amplifier it should say DTS not dolbysurrond... Like it does when I play my backup dvd's ripped from the original dvd....

  8. its not DTS audio tho; AC3 is a dloby digital file

DTS and Dolby are competitors, formats are not interchangeable

  9. Yes ok..
I refrase.. I want dolby digital not surrond.

I use ulead movie factory2, maybe I should use DVD lab instead ?

  10. Don't worry Dolby Digital is still surround, just not as many channels as true DTS.

Ulead DVD MF 2.0 with AC3 Powerpack didn't work? Weird.

I don't really know anything about DVD Lab. Try it .

  11. Thanks for helping me

I Have learned a bit about DVDLab and for my needs to get DD5.1 it works great...

Heard about a prog called "surecode" that makes true DTS ???

    Maybe I could use that

But I dont think I would hear the difference compared to DD5.1...

I have a question about this, after you separte the audio (and converted to ac3) and video, do you put it together? Is that how it works?

If I have the mpeg2, can separete audio and video? is any reencoding done to the file?

Yeah u prob. woudnt hear the diff...

jgandara, u put it back together thru multiplexing (muxing). if u have the mpeg2 u can separtae A/V, no re-encoding neccessary unless u want a new MPEG2

  14. Yes he is right..
DVD lab can do the multiplexing for u.. Or u can open the mpeg 2 in the new version of virtual dub and exctract the audio to a wav there. Convert the mp2 or wav file to ac3 with besweet..

  15. I have one more question..
What is the difference between 2ch stereo and 2ch dolby surrond ??
Is there any use to convert a 2 ch ac3 stereo stream to 2ch dolby surrond when u want to put it in a DVDR? This is when u want to play it in youre hometheater cinema..

I really don't know! Sometimes when i save a wav w/ virtualdub and convert with besweet to true stereo wav, it reads it as a "Dolby-Surround Compatible Stereo" file...

About the conversion, if u do taht it will probably sound more like virtual surroubnd sound, not "true" because its comin from a stereo file
