Best conversion tool?

Using MediaStudio Pro to capture and edit the resulting AVI files. Would like advice about the best program (speed and video quality) to use for converting the AVI file to a VIDEO_TS format. Need this format to burn with Nero 6.

VIDEO_TS is not a format. It is the name of the folder containing
DVD files.
You need to encode your AVI to DVD compliant MPEG2 format.
TMPGenc ranks with the best , is a little slow , but does a lot of
other usefull things.
CCE is faster , but has limited options.
Main concept is said to be good and fast.
I use TMPGenc.

After you get a MPEG2 video you have to Author it which is another
step to make all the files in the VIDEO_TS folder.

I would also reccomend tmpgenc. It is free for mpeg1 and you can try it for 30 days with mpeg2.
