  1. Hi folks

Just wondering if there is a Divx -> DVD conversion tool that lets you pause, shut off your computer, and pick up where you left off after you're done.

I did search, could find nothing easily, but I may have missed something

Not that I'm aware of. You may be able to split your Divx file, then encode to MPEG-2 in parts, then join them back when authoring.

You may also find a batch type of encoder plugin that will let you resume with the next part. But you would still need to split and rejoin the files. When I had a really slow computer, I just let it run overnight for long encodes.

    Hi djelimon,

Sorry, but I would run this test right now, but I can't because I'm running various
things on my other (windows XP) computer and I can't stop them for this.

I think I can show you how you might be able to do it, but only if you are available
right now for me to show you.. I just don't want to go through the motions, and then
no one ever gets back with their results. I just hate that

  6. Use Windows' hiberantion feature. As long as the files are on local drives that should work.
