I use goldwave to extract wav audio from divx files, then maximize the volume. After I click on volume->maximize, the rms values for almost all of the audio files are normally well under .05, sometimes under .01 I usually maximize volume to .95, then do another pass to change rms to .05 if the volume is too low. Other wise, I don't change the rms.
Is there a standard setting for setting the rms? The default that goldwave gives is .2, which to me is much too high, but I was wondering if there was a "standard" value that those who burn svcds use?
