Im using TMPGEnc to encode my avi's ... I've been encoding audio and video on many different avi files in the past few days ... All the sudden everything I have encoded today has no audio. The output files have no audio and I noticed when I started burning them that there was no audio at all. It's strange because it's only the files that I have encoded today. I've checked the avi files and all of them have audio but after they have been encoded there is no audio in those files ... HELP
Thanks

What codecs are used in your sorce AVI's? (Use GSpot...)
What do you encode to?

Audio Codecs for my avi's are MPEG 1 Layer 3 ... I've checked avi's that the audio worked in and avi's that the audio did not work right in and all are the same codec ... Video codec for the ones that didn't work is divx 3 and some of the others were divx 3/4 .... Hope this helps..
ThanksAnthony -
Nope, that was interesting info, but didn't lead me any nearer the solution, I'm afraid. I suggest you extract the audio track from the AVI and convert it to wav using CDEx or other mp3 to wav soft. Then use this wav as audio source when you encode.

What about using an external audio encoder ... In "Envirnmental Settings" Under the "Audio Engine" Tab it says MPEG 1 Layer III encoding is not used unless your using an external program like "TOOLAME" .... Now I have TOOLAME installed but when I browse for the "TOOLAME.EXE" file in the folder that I extracted everything to theres no EXE file. Any ideas on that one?

Then it's not there. Or is TMPG looking for a DLL? Eaxtracting isn't the same as installing.
Does the Audio track show up in TMPG when you open the AVI? I bet it doesn't. Search VBR MP3 .To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
Yeah the audio track shows up .... It has to be something with those specific avi's .... I thought it was a problem with the encoder at first but i've been encoding the first few minutes of differnet avi's and the ones that worked still work fine and the ones that didnt work still are not working ... i'll try doing what you said and let you know what happens......
thanks for all the helpAnthony -
