  1. I am capturing a bunch of old home videos from an old analog 8mm camcorder and burning them to DVD. The audio is mono. I am capturing it to a DV format AVI file. The audio in the AVI is uncompressed PCM. Then I plan to use Tmpgenc to encode it to a DVD compatible MPEG file. Tmpgenc can split off the audio and store it as a WAV file. So then what do I do with it? Since the source is mono camcorder tapes, the audio isn't going to be very good anyway. So I don't want to spend lots of space on the audio. I want to assure that the audio is DVD compliant so it will play on any player. I read that it is mandatory to have PCM or AC3 audio on a DVD on at least one track. So won't PCM be pretty big? Would AC3 be a better choice since I believe it is compressed? If so, how to I convert a PCM WAV file to AC3?

    Thanks,

You don't say if you are in PAL or NTSC country. If PAL, you have an additional choice of mp2.
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1
