  1. I received a "Simply" brochure with the HP DVD+RW/CD-RW combo being sold for about £210 (USD $294). Surely some mistake??

    Probably a typo. I haven't seen them for less than $700(US)

  3. The price excluding VAT (sales tax) has been quoted with the cost inclusive. The inclusive figure is correct based on the initial price of £177. Am I entitled to get the goods at the advertised price even though they have made an error?

    Dunno about the UK, but here in the States the advertiser usually includes some fine print on all ad's that states something along the lines of "Not responsible for typographical errors". Which pretty much absolves them of having to honor the price quoted if it was indeed a typo.

  6. Yeah, I got that Simply brochure too.

    Under UK law goods advertised must be sold for the stated price unless it was a genuine mistake. I think Simply in this case would argue that it was a genuine printing error as the listings on the right of that page state the true price.

    HP DVD-Writer is dvd100i and costs $599
