  1. I have an audio file from a Divx movie.

I have run the file through Virtualdub_mp3_freeze, i used this software cause the other virtualdubs would always give me the VBR warning and Nandub does not seem to have a scan for errors tool?

Anyhow. As i understand when you save the Wav it is acually a AC3 or so i have read?

When i look at the audio file in AVIcodec its telling me to use an MPEG 1 layer 3 codec..... if this matters at all.

So basically what i want to do is Multiplex the audio and Video..... but before it all went out of sync, which i have read about in the forum.

So i started again with encoding.

Do i need to Convert the adio file to AC3, so it can be burned as a dvd. TMPGEnc will not accept my audio file, saying unknow format or something similar.

I also tried to use AC3 fix which i have used before with result. But all i got when i ran the file was wrongness in file..... or some error?

I have never used goldwave or Besweet but i'm thinking that this is what i need to use...........?

Oh yeah and when i did run the file through the check for freeze frames or error scan in virtualdub i did not get any errors or bad frames.......?

So then why should the audio still drift?

Thanks for all that help with this in advance......

Your audio is variable bitrate (VBR) encoded MP3. You choices for DVD audio are AC3, MP2 or LPCM (uncompressed wav audio).

If you load the avi into Goldwave it will extract the audio to wav, select save and you have a wav audio file. You can use that as the audio source for TMPGEnc to create MP2 audio, or you can load it into Besweet (I think) to create AC3 audio, or you can use it as-is for your authoring.
