Hi guys,
I am using the Liteon 401S dvd+rw, but i can't get it to work in DMA mode, at least.... it works, but not stable at all and whenever i click an executable located on a CD or DVD it gives me message like "this is not a valid win32 application", "not enough memory..." etc...
When i change "DMA if available" to "PIO only" it works just fine, but Grrrrrr@#$&^@#)$^ speed is gone of course.
Has anybody run into this problem? Is there a sollution?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

hope this helps -
Thanks for the tip. However, i tried pretty much everything i could think of, but still can't get it working in DMA mode. Whenever i set the controller mode to "DMA if available" and i put in whatever CD or DVD, doesn't matter if it's burned or bought, it does not start any executables.... it just says "not a valid win32 application" or "not enough memory to start this application".
It sucks a whole lot, as speed is a lot slower in PIO mode (which is working just fine).
Anybody had this problem? what can i try? -
Maybe it has a problem with another drive in your system, try switching the drive around on different IDE ports and Master/Slave combinations if you haven't already tried.
