OK-- here's the issue, on several of my VHS tapes I'm getting an odd effect. The file will "stutter"-- it's not simply a dropped frame, but a series where several frames seem to have had their order scrambled. Now, is this somethign that could come with a dropped frame?
Also, In browsing some comments, I've read that this could be a result of the ADS unit getting hot-- and it does get fairly warm. Has anyone suffered problems due to heat, and if so, how do you solve it? The box has VERY small vents, which makes cooling it off problematic.
I've tried it both with ULEAD 7.0 and Capture Wiz and they give me the same problem. They're old tapes, so that's probably the problem, but I would like to know how to correct them.
Finally, in these old tapes, I've been told that a TimeBase Corrector might help-- if so, does anyone have a suggestion for me, bearing in mind that 1000$+ units aren't really in my price range?
Thanks!
Computer: WIN 2K, 1 gig memory, 1.7 Gig PIV, 250 Gig HD with a dedicated 50 Gig partition for video work, and the oeprating system and all programs are on another (physical) disk.
