    Hi all.

Just bought an ADS Tech Video Xpress USB2 capture box. I'm running my RCA leads to it from the outputs on my telly, with the hope of capturing some footage from my Xbox 360. I have selected PAL-60 as the format, which is correct, and the image comes up as in the attached picture... The green area on the right, should be on the left, and the red part should be on the right. The black bar shouldn't be there... it looks like the whole image has been shifted to the right and it wraps back around!

Normal TV does the same thing.

Anyways, I tried other capture formats, all of the other PAL types (B, D, G, H, I, N), and they result in a flickering, rolling image, but the image is true on the screen (and not offset like above).

I'm not using S-Video, just normal RCA leads. If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it! Just spent $125 on this capture box and so far it's a waste!

    Cheers.

This is exactly the same problem I'm having with this card. The PAL 60 setting results in this for both 360 and original xbox. Both of them come up fine with normal 50 hz PAL.

Are there any other users of this card that have had this issue?

Not an expert in the is arena asnd I can't help with the specific problem but I'll try and shed some light on the issue. PAL-60 is hybrid signal for converting NTSC video for playback on PAL equipment. From my understanding this PAL-60 signal cannot be made into a compliant PAL DVD without further processing if you have any intentions of using it for that purpose. I'd assume that the Xbox's native format is NTSC and simply converts it to PAL-60 for playback on PAL equipment.

If your TV will accept a NTSC signal and you can switch the X-Box to NTSC, capture as NTSC instead.

The other benefit of this is you can author a NTSC DVD which will play on most PAL DVD players.

I get the exact same result and I tried what you suggested thecoalman and it works but the color is extreemly dull and does not look anywhere as good as the Pal-60 setting would (if it worked).

Any more help would be appreciated,

    Sam
