  1. does anyone know why a dvd + rw may become unusable.....i was all set up to burn and i clicked on burn and it started but then an error came up that said the disc may be unusable (i think it was error 1510:3:0).....i erased the entire disc so i don't see why it would be unusable at this point

  4. I have had a similiar instance happen to me when I used different programs to burn and then erase the disc.... ie, Nero to burn and Record Now max to erase, and vice versa. I am not sure why this is but my DVD-RW discs afterwards were unusable. Not that this advice helps you any but just to let you know how it happens. Maybe you used the same program to burn and erase and then burn again to the disc...in that case...I am not certain.

  5. DVD RWs are more susceptable to scratches, fingerprints etc. Try cleaning the disk. I use Disk Doctor.

  7. Disk Doctor is a device you buy (Media Play, Target?). It resurfaces the DVD. I have used it on several DVD RW's that were unusable and it fixed them.

  8. do u by chance know how much it would cost?

  9. I think it costs around $25.00. If you want to save money do a search for toothpaste and see what people have to say about using that to clean the disk. The goal is to actually resurface the disk by applying a light abrasive. Then buff it with a lint free cloth to restore the shine.

  13. Reenie,
Put the word "toothpaste" in the search box at the top of the page. Set it to search all forums. You will find several discussions.
