Just found out after burning it won't work in a standalone dvd player on tv but plays fine on my pc. Its a lttle over a 4 gig file.... Is there a way to do this so I could watch on standalone dvd player.

    thanks for any help

Can't be done without re-encoding with something like TMPGEnc or CCE or MainConcepts ect.

There are many posts on here about this ... try looking for one.

I'm frankly getting tired of people asking dumb PAL to NTSC questions all the time like converting an ISO from one to another or doing it in such a way so that you keep the menus and all the extras etc.

Clearly these people don't read or can't use the SEARCH function.

If they did then they wouldn't be asking so many questions.

I really need to write an in-depth very basic step-by-step guide on this.

But I think the people who don't bother reading the guides will still ask the same silly questions.

    *** sigh ***

Sorry.....The ones I saw were pal to vcd.....I'll keep looking.

For what its worth I don't want the menus or the extras just the movie.

When I was trying tmpgenc and doing it wrong, because it was looping itself because of the menu.

  4. life would be so much easier if people would just make there dvds all region free,i rip dvds and send them to my family in canada, and they play fine in there dvd players, and the same when they send stuff to me.
it would stop all the bother.

  5. um pal and ntsc are different then regions, although some dvd players can out put a pal dvd to ntsc. I don't believe canda uses pal, mostly I believe its europe that uses pal.

So thats probably why you haven't had a problem, don't want to sound like an ass, just clearing up a misconception on your part.

    Well here you go ...

There are no real simple easy-to-follow guides on doing PAL to NTSC but if you read through the two links below you will know all that you need to know to do this:

    1.) http://www.geocities.com/xesdeeni2001/StandardsConversion/

    2.) https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=160433&highlight=

The first link is to a website by Xesdeeni that is excellent but a far cry from a detailed step-by-step guide. Couldn't have figured it all out without him though.

The second link is a thread from this very website were several people (including myself, DJRumpy and Xesdeeni) get into the nitty gritty along with most if not all of the details you will need.

So look at the website and read that thread in total and you should be able to do it without too many problems.

    Good Luck!
