    Hello... question may be a bit n00bish.. sorry..

    I have a few DVD ISOs that are in PAL format, and I need to burn them off as NTSC. What's the most painless way to accomplish this?

    A complete "true" conversion is not painless for a newbie.

  3. The easiest way is to buy a DVD player that supports PAL such as a Philips or Oppo.

    The basic approach is

    1. Extract the DVD content from the ISO
    2. Extract all the content from the DVD structure - video, audio, menus backgrounds etc.
    3. Convert all elements - resize and re-encode video and stills etc to NTSC resolution
    4. Apply pulldown from 25 -> 29.97 fps
    5. Re-assemble all the elements back into the DVD structure
    6. Burn a new disc

    This is the most common and simple $40~$50 solution.

    The easiest way I have found to make ntsc playable copies is to use convertxtodvd.
