Hello everyone. I have been trying with much difficulty to take the audio from a DVD or DVD-A disc, and save each of the 5.1 audio channels separately as a .WAV file. I have followed numerous guides on here and other places, fiddled about with BeSweet and BeSure, but have had zero success.

Let me give you a bit of background, I am trying to do this so I can hear the separated channels from music DVDs (mainly to aid in transcribing the music, but also because it's fascinating to listen to).

I spent the whole weekend searching through these forums and other places, but nothing has worked so far. BeSure just outputted tiny corrupted .WAV files that contained no information. No program has successfully managed to output an .AC3 file from a DVD. All the discs I'm using contain .VOB files.

Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks.

  2. You could always do it the analog way. Connect the RCA analog line outputs from your DVD player to where ever you want. Heck, you could probably just use the balance controls of your receiver to do the same.

Yeah, I've thought about just disconnecting all the speakers I don't need and listening back. But still, it would be a lot more convenient to have an MP3 that I could pause and jump back and forth around.

My soundcard has the capability to record anything it hears direct to WAV files, but whenever I try to record from a DVD the sound is full of pops and crackles.

Is there a way to do this through analogue on my PC? I've tried all sorts of software and can't even manage to output an AC3 file! I have a surround sound set up on my computer, and a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 Platinum soundcard.

Is it possible to just tell some piece of audio recording software (I have Cool Edit) to only record what one speaker channel is outputting? Is there any software that can just mute separate speakers?
