I used smartripper on a DVD to get the M2V video and I have the audio in MP3 format. I'm looking for a tool that can take both of these and convert them into a usable MPG or AVI. Any tips? Thanks in advance

You dont need to convert the files - just mux them into a single mpeg file. There is a lot of video muxers in the tool section. If you cannot find one for your purpose there, IŽll suggest you download a trial version of the Womble Mpeg Editor and use the built-in muxer from that.

virtualdub for avi, AVI Demux for avi or mpg

While it is possible to put mp3 audio into an mpg file, or m2v (mpeg-2) video into an avi container, neither are recommended.

What is your ultimate goal here ?

Convert the audio mp3 to ac3 or mp2 using belight(as I wouldn't put a mp3 in a mpg...). Then can you multiplex the m2v and ac3 to a mpg using for example imagompeg muxer.

If you want an avi then you use virtualdubmod, load the m2v, load the mp3 under streams->stream list, choose a video codec under video->compression (like the xvid codec), save as a avi.

For a AVI such as Xvid or similar, you could put both files into VirtualDub Mod, convert the video to Xvid and use 'Direct stream copy' to mux the audio with the Xvid file. This is assuming the MP3 is Xvid compliant.

For a MPEG, just convert the audio file to a DVD type format. You could convert it to AC3 with ffmpegGUI. Then author it to the DVD format. This assumes the M2V MPEG is DVD compliant. You could use GUI for dvdauthor to do the DVD format conversion.

Lots of other ways, but those are two.

    And welcome to our forums.

EDIT: I must be getting slow. But what everyone else said.
