I often capture with virtual dub in multisegment capture mode. The audio data of the second, third etc.... files is often corrupt and results in noise after encoding with TMPGenc. What's the reason? Is it a known fact and can I solve this problem?

I notice that when I using multisegment capture, vdub drops lot of frams, and cpu usage gone up to 100%. I can never use multisegment feature in vdub.

I don't know what's causing it but you have two options, either try with avi_io and see if that fixes it, or record your audio seperately and remix it back in to the video afterwards (using the audio interleave option to sync it.)
You may also try enabling/disabling lock audio to video stream in the capture setup.
