Editing using DVD Lab

You can't. DVD Lab is not an editor.

depending on what kind of video clip it is, you can use Virtualdub (avi files), TMPGenc (mpeg files) or ChopperXP (vob files).

But you can do with TMPGenc DVD Author and it is not an editor though

If the scource is a DVD use DVDShrink like this:
Using DVDShrink as a Cutter

It will leave you with seperate VOBs that you can use in DVDLab

it must have some editing functions....

... but you weren't asking about TMPGenc Author, you were asking about DVD Lab.
