I've successfully made VCD's with menus on EZYCD 4, but I'm having trouble allocating play items with corresponding buttons on my Akai ADV8000 DVD player. No big drama, but I have a VCD that I want to operate in this way:

Opening intro clip -> Main menu with 2 choices
Select button 1 on player: plays movie 1
Select button 2 on player: plays movie 2
Press menu button on player: goes to Main menu

I want to play it with PBC feature switched ON on my DVD player so as to access these menu choices.

This is the issue: when either of the movie choices finishes playing, it returns to the main menu for another selection, which is good. But if I stop the movie before it finishes, by pressing the stop button, the return button, or the menu button, it returns to the DVD player's diplay screen, and I have to press play and go through the intro clip to get back to the main menu (I can use the SKIP button, but it still should be better than that). Is there any way to assign the main menu to buttons in EZY CD 4, so when I hit the MENU button on my remote, it goes to the Main menu page I made?

Or a solution to MPEG 1 in I-Author

You can assign particular clips functions to the menu button in I-Author, and I have got SVCD's to work in this way using it. But I've had no luck making VCD 2.0's in I-Author - every VCD project ends up automatically changing to a Karaoke VCD 3.0, and it rejects my compliant MPEG 1 mpgs. Muxing them in the I-Author Mux program causes I-author to recognise them as SVCD's. I want to do VCD's.
