  1. Hi everyone!

I experience a strange problem with DVD+RWs on my new Aopen DVRW2412: I can only write on them once! If I try to erase them with Nero 5.5, it says "Illegal medium", no matter if it is UDF or FS_UDF file system. I also cannot format them with InCD. After a short while it ejects the discs with the message that it cannot write on it. What can I do to use my RWs again? Your help is highly appreciated.

  3. I read in a forum (not sure if it was this one) that doing a full erase (not quick erase) on a new DVD-RW disk before you start recording stuff on it, reduces the likelihood of problems like the one you are having. But then again, some burners are very particular about the brand of DVD-RW they will accept.

  5. I had a similar problem with my DVD+RW when I got my new Dell I burned a movie with it's internal 4XDVD+R/+RW and when I played it it was fine but when I went back to use the disk again it would not let me. I tried it in my HP200edvd writer and it would not work there either to use the DVD+RW again. I thought Shit, I made a coster out of a brand new DVD+RW. After reading that it should be compatible with the 4X DVD burner I thought lets see what happens if I erase with RecordNow Max and then Nero and then again with RecordNow Max and again with Nero and try it in the HP 200e dvd writer and it worked. Never had a problem with the DVD+RW media in the HP 200e dvd writer using it over and over again. So I thought it was the laser in the new Dell computer. Did the long erase with both programs in the Dell. Had to do that for 8 disks because I did not find out about it until I had burned 8 movies first on DVD+RW media. Now the HP 200e dvd writer is happy to use them again. If I had know about this program I may have gotten away with only one long erase. Will use that program to format my next disk first in my new Dell before I burn another movie to DVD+RW and see how it goes knowing that I can still save the disk by doing a full long erase many times over.

In RecordNow Max in Tools->Options->Wizard->DVD-> I would like to use discs for more than one recording, needs to be ticked.

I'm skeptical that this would do it. That option seems to be the same as Nero's multisession function. it's not specific to DVDRW but can be used with all disc types.

  8. True I have not tried it myself yet on a DVD+RW but I also just found it and thought that this would be/could be the fix.
