Any help would be appreciated. For people that are too impatient to have to oder their DVD-R's over the net and wait for them to come, which WALK IN STORES are known for selling cheap media? When I say "walk in", I'm referring to any major chain such as Best Buy, etc. or even a small private store,as long as it's a local one that I can drive to. I live in Los Angeles, so if anyone knows of any stores that sell in packs of 25 (which is usually all I can afford at a time), any help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. With walkin stores you usually have to wait for the good sales. Otherwise they can all be expensive (about $2 per disc). Office Max has had the best sales latetly tho.

I saw that walmart near me had standard priced Maxel 2x DVD-rs in 10 packs for $22. Thats better then the price the computer stores want, heck I saw a 5 pack sell for $20+ recently at a computer store. Not bad deal if you just need some disc "right now".

  6. CompUSA sells their brand 1x DVD-R at 50 for $45 or 10 for $10. They burn at 2x on my Sony DRU500ax and I have yet to have a bad burn after some 150 discs.

Whatever came with it. After screwing up any 4x burning on my old DRU500a by messing with firmware updates I'm now a believer "If it ain't broke don't fix it".

How do you know these are Riteks??? They're labeled as "Generic."

  15. You have to be cautious of PC CLUB they sell fake media (knock offs) or they are of B quality or less.

I told a story a while back when I bought some generic Lead Data Printable top, dvd-rs ( $50 for 50pk sale) and they fell apart after burning on them. (The glue like came apart)

I've tired 3 times to buy media from them and all the times the media was crap (majority bad burns or compatibily problems). Ritek 1x, Lead Data 1x silver, Lead Data 1x Printable.

Stick with branded media bought at large retail stores with return policies, Cause you cant return media at PC CLUB. ( fu_k'n hole in the wall store )
