    did anybody have trouble playing videocds with this dvd player ?

    There are good guides to almost every standalone DVD player on this site. Users are also encouraged to submit their own experiences with a particular player so others, like you can learn from others mistakes.

    It is the media problem. Try to use CD-RW. I found that Mr. Write CD-RW plays on most picky DVD players.
