All,
I'm new to this stuff and the help pages have been
great so far. I'm taking this in small steps, so far
I've made a small video clip to vcd, then a vcd with a
number of digital photos where some are set to 15 sec
(for slideshow type) others to infinite.
My question is can I group a number of photos in
chapters so I can get to photo #77 without going
through the whole deal, or does the concept of menus
not apply to this??

If you know how to author VCDs with VCDImager and the XML system, you can create almost any sort of menu structure and interactivity you like. Certainly you can create what you are talking about.
However, creating VCDs using VCDImager requires a rather steep learning curve... but keep it in the back of your mind that for true authoring power and flexibility, VCDImager is the only choice.
For ease of operation and simplicity, many people have stated that WinOnCD3.8PE is very good for "photo" VCDs. If you search for WinOnCD and "photo", I'm sure that you'll find quite a bit of information previous posted on the forums.
