    I would like to make a photo be a video.

    Let me explain. I have a relatively large movie collection of personal movies. I would like to be able to put the video poster and a small description in front of the video when selecting play. This would allow me to see what the movie is about and then determine if I'd like to watch it (I know what all my movies are about but I think it would be cool).

    I know how to merge and append video, the thing I'd like to know is how I could make a small slide show of just one photo so I could append it to the beginning of the film.
    Windows 7 Professional 64 bit -- Intel Core i7 930 (2.80ghz - not OC) -- 6gb triple channel ram -- 2 500gb hdds and a 2tb hdd

    I don't think this will work that good. You must convert with EXACT same settings as your source video and with same audio if you are going to join/append without reconversion.
