  1. Is there a program that I could put my own watermark on a video captured from a VHS tape?...The org tape has TVland watermark on the lower-r corner..I want to put my own watermark over it /saved to my harddrive / MPEG 2 then to be trans/DVD..is that possible?

    Premiere uses Photoshop PSD (alpha-channel) files to do this.
    Virtual Dub has a filter for it too.

  4. VirtualDub has a logo filter. It can even be animated.

    Avisynth can do the same thing.

    I think way you really want is the virtualdub logoaway filter. It blends the area to blur away the logo. Kinda like a retouch tool.

    Here is a great post on how to use avisynth to use logoaway on only part of the clip.
