  1. I have been trying to get ffmpegX v0.0.7d to operate on a large VOB file created both with VLC and OSeX and in both cases it only generates the first 8 minutes or so of the mpg file, regardless of the movie, video bitrate, codec, and video parameter. The audio, however, is generated for the entire movie. Before I purchase the software (for $15) I would love to be successful in generating a VCD. Any ideas what the problem might be.

    Thanks

  2. Is it the video frozen to the same still or just non existing after 8 minutes? Does it work if you disable the "Use quicktime to decode" checkbox?

  3. major,
    Thanks for your answer.
    1. The video was frozen.
    2. I re-ran the encoding turning off 'quicktime to decode'. (I might add that QuickTimeMPEG2.component had been installed and active although initial runs with MPEG1 [.MPG] (mpeg2enc) selected produce the same 8 minute problem with 'quicktime to decode' enabled.

After the rerun, a complete movie was encoded! Thank you. However, this run generated more questions. Please note the following parameters where chosen:

    ffmpeg parameters

Please note the files that were in the attached file titled DIEANOTHERDAY.jpg.

My question is now regarding resulting file sizes. As you can see, two 700MB files were not generated for subsequent SVCD burning. Could you now shed some light on this. And also, back to the original question, why does disabling the Apple quicktimeMPEG2.component fix the 8 minute problem?

    Thank you

  4. Sorry the .jpg didn't attach. It was 120K and there is apparently a 60K limit. The following filestructure was obtained:
