    Hi,

I've done a quick scan through the forum but I'm a little confused as there is so much there!

I have an mpg (less than 4gb) which I created with TMPGenc Xpress. I'd like to convert it to vob files to be dvd compliant, and I was wondering if there are any freeware programs to do this without re-encoding? Smart encoding I think its generally called?

I have Pinnacle Studio 10. Would this do it? Ive always been unsure if that has smart encoding. If not I need something cheap (IE FREE!).

    Thanks for any help.

If you don't menus use simple dvd creator. If you want menus use dvdstyler or guifordvdauthor. More authoring tools ordered by free, https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/authoring-dvd?orderby=Type

Of course this assumes that the mpg file is DVD compliant already. If it isn't then you will have to re-encode

Hi again, thanks for the advice. Worked a treat. The file was dvd compliant, I made it up in TMPGenc, and SimpleDVD was... simple!

    Cheers!
