  1. I recently needed to reformat my computer and when I had everything installed again, I went and installed my Adobe Premiere (I've tried both 6.0 and 6.5) but before it could fully load on it's startup, I kept getting a WMV9VCM.DLL error.

Frustrated, I installed my older Ulead Video Studio 5.0. On the startup, I got the same error. I went to the Microsoft site, and downloaded the setup for this WMV9VCM thing and it still won't work. I was hesitant to try and install it since I'm only running 98SE, and it's for XP. But I tried it for the hell of it.

Any idea what's wrong with it?

  2. When you reformated it, did you completely erase the C: drive with your operating system and re-install winows?

  3. That's a very odd error -- it appears that particular DLL is part of either a beta player or some sort of non-standard OS.

If I were you I'd reformat over again, put your OS on and start by installing Premiere -- don't install *anything* else first. Make sure you use your original disks. If the problem persists, contact Adobe support.

  4. I miraculously got the program to work. Don't ask how, cause I REALLY don't know. BUT, I can't render preview my work. I can export into mpeg, but I can't preview it all with my effects. It says the codec isn't found.

  5. Either call Adobe support or post to the forums -- they are very helpful in both cases.
