  1. I am trying to play a .dat movie. I tried to play in powerdvd, windvd, and windows media player, and none of them work. Is there something i am doing wrong?

  2. When you say DAT file I assume you mean a VCD dat file. If so WMP can play these. However, if you have winXP the association for DAT is already used so you can do open the file from within WMP.

Instead, run windows explorer. Go the the MPEGAV folder and right click on the dat file. Then choose open with, and select WMP from the list.

  3. I try that and when wmp comes up, it says there is an unknow error and shuts it down. This is what is on the CD.
