  1. I have just made my first video and when I play the DVD on my PC the quality is great. I have a 17" LCD display. I then take they DVD to a dvd player hooked to a TV and the slide show is fine but the video clips are not nearly has nice as when played on my PC. The video is sports action shots and they players running look like they have another player just behind them a frame or so. almost like the option in windows to have a trailer behind your mouse pointer.

Is there a setting that I need to change during the conversion?

  2. My first inclination is that the fields are out of order. I'm guessing that you probably captured in AVI, then converted the AVI to an MPEG-2. During this conversion process the field order is incorrect and the image has what is known as jitter.

If this sounds right, swap the field order in your MPEG converter. My system always seems to go toward Top First(A).

And don't let your converter detect the field order - I've found that TMPGEnc doesn't always use the correct field order. Keep in mind when setting your field order: captured analog video; top (A) field first. Digital video; bottom (B) field first.
