  2. If your video is an xvid it is probably already an avi file. What extension does it have?

  3. If you have it, you can just run it through DVDMovieFactory...hardly the best solution, but the only one I know of I'm afraid.
TMPGEnc will do it, but for me it always produces a file 5-6GB in size!

    xvid to dvd

Last time I checked xvid was an avi format. To change format, load in Virtualdub, full processing mode, select a compression, save avi

The size of the file depends on the length of the clip (in time) and the bitrate in bits/second. The bitrate in TMPGEnc is fully adjustable by the user to produce any size file, either in the bitrate setting window of the wizard or by manually entering the bitrate under settings next to rate control mode. If using the latter method, then the bitrate calculator in the Tools section is handy.

yep, but even using the LowRes setting (1850) it gives me a size of 5.05Gb

  8. Try loading your film in either gspot or avicodec to see what kind of audio it has. If you TMPG converts the video but not the sound, you will have to extract the audio file as a wav file using goldwav and use that for the audio.
